Someplace Special is 47 acres of pure amazement. The mine has been in Farmer Joe Rakes family since before the Civil War and he has been mining on it since he was a child. A little less than a century ago, a glacial flood from Canada washed gems all the way down to his property in West Virginia and thanks to a flood wall, the minerals are still being found on his property. This means we can find crystals that are not native to the area.
Recently Farmer Joe decided to retire and shut down the mine but lucky for us, we still have access to the mine.
